T'was early in the morning. A photoshoot was scheduled for 8.00 a.m. I was already up and about. Being an early riser of late, I was all ready for the day. My "dress" has already been pressed and ready to impress. Straightened up what needs to be straightened, taking a last look at my hair I took the lift down and ready to strut to the site. It seems I was one of the early ones. The top "model" has not arrived probably having breakfast.
8.00 a.m. looms. And then the rest of the "models" start arriving in droves. Everyone dressed to impressed. The first theme was black and white with a tinge of blue. The plan was to complete everything in one hour. It took 30 minutes just on one location. The top "models" took their places. Everyone took their places. Where we were to stand was labelled to save time. The photographers were fussy. They demanded absolute perfection., No loose anything. Everything needs to be straightened and took frame after frame after frame. Some of our feet started hurting.
It's not easy to feign a smile and to hold it until we get it right. We had many different poses. The photographers checked everything. Lights, negative space, aperture, shutter speed, width, length, height. Everything.
It's coming to 9.00 a.m. and we are still in our current outfit. We've not even moved to another site just yet, much less change to our next outfit. Our next programme that was to start at 9.00 has been shifted to 9.30.
Finally, we moved to the next site. Perfection was demanded again. Our cheeks were aching. To lighten the moment, someone cracked jokes to make people laugh. The next programme has been shifted again to 10.00 a.m. We have not even changed our outfit yet where we need to re do the photoshoots with another outfit.
Everything was repeated. This time it was very colourful. All shades, all colour, all materials. Everyone, again dressed to impress. The top "model" labelled everyone from the "king", "queen", "politicians" and the list goes on. I was wearing this purple ensemble. Purple seems the right shade for the day.
The photoshoot went on again. Everyone hopes the next programme serves breakfast. Tummies start rumbling. The next programme has been shifted again to 10.30 as we made our way for our final outdoor shoot. It was a hot day. It was a lovely day taking photos by the lake. There was even a gentle breeze. Everyone needed to get it right. Eyes start squinting in the hot sun. Some wore shades like mine, so I didn't mind the sun so much. But at the final shoot, some of us needed to remove our shades as it interfered with the picture. The photographers demanded the best and we gave our best.
Throughout our career as "models" never have a photoshoot been this intense, but they needed all the footage they need for the various publications that will be published later in the year. The photos look awesome. And the photographers did an awesome job.
Should I share the photos here? Wouldn't want to steal their thunder. If I see it being published in Facebook by the top "model", I will share it. But not before.
Yes the next programme started at almost 11.00 a.m. They did serve breakfast, just sandwiches. Some of them were looking forward to something heavier. Not me. I am on a quest to lose weight and so far I seem to be on the right track. Many commented that I look trimmer. Only thing running through my mind is that I must have looked hideous before if it was that noticeable. No I am not on any fancy diet, I just control my food intake with lesser meals at night. If I do want dinner I would be done with dinner before 7.00 pm.
So, with a little trimmer look I hope I look okay in the photoshoots. Lesser paunch. It's still there but better hidden.....
