Badai (The Storm)

It was a dark and stormy night, but in this instance, it's not one night, instead it's been continuing for the last 5 years. They are like this raft in the middle of a treacherous river pounded by rain, thunder and lightning. They are hoping to get to the banks but the captain is clueless on how to absolutely get there. The people on board are hoping to get to shore with this hapless captain. Some have abandoned the raft thinking it will capsize. Some managed to safely get to shore while many more have drowned.

There are onlookers by the river banks. Some are jus watching while others are tring to help.

The raft is held by this thin rope offered by a leader amongst the onlookers. The thin rope may break at any time. This is the only thing that is holding the raft from capsizing.

There are some on the raft that is thinking of letting go the rope. They are confident that they will not capsize but instead be carried by the currents to the river banks. They are hopeful to survive but they are not confident that everyone on board will survive.

There are people on the banks signalling to them. They are trying to decipher at best that they can but they are just not sure that everyone on the river banks are fully invested in their interest.

Instead of making sure that everyone survives the captain have been looking over his shoulder looking for mutiny. He keeps on identifying mutineers, whether with concrete evidence or not. And instead of ensuring to secure his crew, he have accused one after another of mutiny and threw them overboard.

He is hoping that his former captain can rescue him, the raft and whoever's left on board. But he is facing his own issues, with him in jail and his wife following him soon.

Previously there were other rafts that was held together but many couldn't hold on and were pulled by the currents. They have their own issues and have not reached the river banks either. There were rescue boats that were sent to help them but there were so many conditions for them to be rescued that the offers were spurned.

What's left is that thin rope. The captain is holding it to dear life pulling it slowly. It is brittle and weak in certain parts. Some onboard are not happy with the rope. They feel the leader at the river banks could have given a stronger rope but the leader have his own set of problems. His people are nagging and niggling him every moment they can while the onlookers kept on criticising his every move and actions. Things are looking quite bleak for now.

Early last weekend on 2 December 2023, there was this opportunity to place the raft on a firmer footing but unfortunately they lost so miserably that some onboard decided to jump off while some of the onlookers decided they don't deserve to be rescued.

He remains oblivious to any opinions. The leader that is holding on to the rope on the other side looks just as hapless but refusing to admit it.
