Friends...

No, it is not about the TV show, although I am a huge fan. I have a full collection of their CDs, later DVDs, and then their magazine. Yes, I am huge fan. Oh? I said that already, did I? Who is my favourite character? I love them all as an ensemble although individually all of them can be high maintenance. Even Joey. And I said I will not be writing about Friends the TV Show. Let me fish out their picture.

Okay, there. Actually, I wanted to write about my friends. I have been in Kota Bharu, Kelantan (an East Coast Peninsula Malaysia State) since March this year. That is close to 8 months. Well, I live alone. My family, wife and kids are in Kuala Lumpur. That's where I grew up and worked. My parents are also there, barely a street away. Except for when I went overseas to study, staying nearly 4 years in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu (neighbour to Kelantan) and a year in Johor Bahru, Johor (neighbour to Singapore to the South), I spent most of my life in KL. Except again when we followed my father's posting (as I've told the story before, he's a soldier) to Kluang, Johor; Alor Setar, Kedah, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan; Kuching, Sarawak and Jakarta, Indonesia. Again, most of my life in KL. And I digress, first I was distracted by Friends, and now about where I used to live. Speaking of Friends, what first caught my eye was their episode title, The One With....

Anyway, in the last few months, I have met many friends, some even came over to spend a night. I have even met some whom I've not met for an exceptionally long time. So, my life here, although I am alone, I am not lonely. I have met my former A Levels room mate, my A Levels college mates, my First Year college mate, my senior in Leeds, my very dear friend that married another dear friend (that's the one that spent the night), my ex Boss who is another dear friend. And I am still waiting for another dear friend to come. I even met my classmate from Secondary School.

Because of following my father, I never stayed in one Primary School for long. Overall, I attended 5 primary schools. So, I cannot recall any of my classmates or schoolmates from school. Not even if they are right in my face barking my name. Although, for the last Primary School, some became my great friends in Secondary School and right up till now.

My friends now are mainly from Secondary School, College, University, and former colleagues. Those I keep close and we stay connected every so often. It was amazing how we managed to stay connected even when there was no cellular phones at that time. Back in United Kingdom, we landed in UK at different times, different years and in different universities. Yet, when it mattered most, all of us converged to meet in London, from the North, South East and East of England. And we still keep in touch, even now, approaching our golden years. We met when we were only 17, and now we are fast approaching our mid 50s.

Okay, let me stop here now. I need to figure out how to add videos to Instagram. What I did didn't work. Bed is beckoning me, it's the monsoon season, it's been raining daily. I will share videos of rain next time. The sound is quite soothing, and it's nice and cool. It poured early this morning and stopped before noon and it started again at dusk just now. No signs of abating.

I wanted to show my "cooking show" it took ages to load. Not sure what went wrong. I wanted to record me preparing dinner, I was hungry, so I forgot, and by the time I remembered the 8 pieces of chicken were gone! Don't judge me, I refrained from cabo! Okay, off to bed! Good night, everyone. Drop me a line so I can update my next refrain that is quite restrained. Did I share that I also love to sing?
