As always, I start writing something else, but my mind wants to write something else. We shall see which one I will eventually publish. This time round I was in KL for a longer time. It started from the 31st of May when I attended the Management Meeting. The next day I attended a meeting/workshop at the Malaysia's Space Agency (MYSA). Fruitful days galore. It was then followed up by another meeting on our Inception Report for the Master Plan 3.0.
That brings us to Saturday. My mother decided for the family to have lunch in Ikea. The crowd was amazing, and the food was surprisingly delicious. I enjoyed the raspberry juice very much. It was another family get together. Sunday was a quiet day, just feeling anxious about my son's results that was to be released on 8th June.
5th June was a day I will never forget. I wrote about it on my previous post, https://www.lonjak-kan.com/post/memories-are-made-of-this. This was my primary school reunion. In total I attended 5 primary schools, and this was the most significant and the most meaningful. And the longest, where I was in Standard 4, 5 and 6, although I didn't complete Standard 5 and 6, as I moved schools.
That brings me to the 6th. I went to office to tackle a few matters and attended the Weekly Management Meeting on the 7th. That was then followed up with a Programme to celebrate and fete 5 colleagues who were going for Hajj. Hajj is a very big deal and I myself am looking forward to go for my Hajj. Officially I am scheduled to perform my Hajj in 2091. If by that time they have perfected longevity and youthfulness technology, I will be 122 years old. Still young and sprightly. But according to the organisation that manages Hajj, Tabung Haji, we can start to appeal, and I hope I can perform my Hajj next year.
The guest religious speaker, Ustaz Haji Rozie Rejab was simply amazing. No one has piqued my interest to perform Hajj as he did that day. This is one of his religious lessons.
When I attended his talk, I couldn't remember when I was officially tipped to go, he piqued me enough to check when I am supposed to go. I plan to put in enough funds so that I can bring my family with me.
That brings me to the 8th of June when SPM results was released.
My son did well. He doesn't have the array of As but he delivered as he promised. What he did that was amazing was that he turned around 2 poor results with strong results. I am tremendously proud of him, what's next is to identify his next school. We have finalised to 3 schools, Science Foundation in University of Malaya, Science Foundation in International Islamic University and Science Foundation in International University of Malaya and Wales (IUMW). It looks like we are going to choose IUMW where he will get his degree from both University of Malaya and University of Wales, where he will complete his final year in Wales.
He plans to do a degree in Computer Science, his interest has always been with computers. He is already quite adept with programming and coding, now he needs to up the ante to build up advantage over others in whatever he chooses to do. Whether he choose to work with corporations or whether he choose to be on his own, it's important to have impressive credentials. As a parent, I hope that I will have provided the necessary for him to have a great future. According to the timeline, he will graduate at the age of 22. From there he can decide what to do next, whether to further his studies and get another degree, Masters or to work.
9th we had a workshop led by the CEO on the Master Plan 3.0. It was held at PwC's office at KL Sentral. The workshop was amazing. It was organised and managed well, managed to elicit a lot of comments and ideas that will allow us to better deliver our tasks to develop the East Coast Economic Region.
That brings us to the 10th. We decided to celebrate my mother's 79th birthday that day. Her birthday is on the 12, that's tomorrow, but it will be on a Monday, and I won't be around. It was an amazing day; my mother was incredibly happy. We had it at Positano, food was amazing. Service was excellent.
My wife made the desserts even though the dessert in Positano sounded inviting and delicious. The desserts she made is as always amazing.
We also celebrated my son's achievement, and it was a great day. My mother gave him something for his achievement. And for me now that he delivered as promised, I need to do my part.
I drove my parents back and then waited for my transport to the airport at 5.00pm. I caught my usual airline, Firefly. I enjoy flying in the turbo prop planes.
Departure and arrival were actually early. The pilot was a lady pilot and she piloted well. The plane landed right after a spell of heavy rain in Kota Bharu. By the time I arrived at the apartment I was quite tired. Unpacked and got ready for bed. The next day will be a meeting with the Director of the State Economic Planning Unit to discuss on the hardcore poor eradication programme. Thus, that ends a long, eventful, and fruitful trip back to KL. A long week ahead is being planned to initialise the hardcore poor eradication programme that includes identifying land to embark on our fertigation projects. That involves meeting with the various District Officers of a few of the Districts in Kelantan.
Okay, apparently, I am going to publish this one. Thank you for reading.
