I have a whole lot to write but risking lese majeste I need to refrain myself. Being an unknown public figure is an interesting position to be in. I am not known yet I may be known, thus I need to be mindful how and what I write.
Took a bit of time to recover from my heartache so here I am again almost fully recovered. Not really actually.
I have been extremely busy in the last month or so. Being busy is good. I don't intend to slow down however the results from my medical checkup was not good. I just need to be more careful. As some of you may recall, a few months ago I went for a sleep study. The sleep study was to identify if I have any issues with my sleep apnea. Finally, amongst my busy schedule I managed to squeeze in time to listen to the diagnosis of the results from my sleep study.
What kept me busy? Well, there was a visit to my office from the MB Inc with a discussion on Dabong later. The next day was a discussion with the State Economic Planning Unit on our Master Plan 3.0 followed by a courtesy call to the newly minted Investment Chairman. That night we arranged for a special session with the former MB in Kampung Laut and surreptitiously included a small birthday celebration for the CEO.
The next day was the first ICC meeting chaired by the newly minted MB, which started first with a pre briefing with the MB. It was then followed up with a discussion with the consultants on the Master Plan 3.0. All these were followed with celebrating Malaysia Day on 16th September. I flew to KL for my medical appointment and a series of management meetings. I left immediately after for a visit from a China delegation to my office. It was then followed by a series of online meetings. I then flew back to KL where I was on leave until Maulidur Rasul.
I then returned to KB by road with my parents and attended my first programme for the Sultan's birthday the next day. Then there were a few days of public holiday in conjunction with the Sultan's birthday. Immediately after there were a series of online meetings followed by another programme for the Sultan's birthday. And another series of online meetings ensued followed by another Sultan's birthday programme.
The very next day I drove my parents back to KL. And here we are back in KB where my team will be split into 4 as everyone will need to represent the organisation in various key meetings.
While my parents were here, I managed to take them to places they've never been to, and they enjoyed it very much. I thank Allah every minute for having my parents with me, still able. In between my daughter turned 15 and we managed to celebrate her birthday too.
And that brings me to my health. I take pride with my health. I am fairly healthy Alhamdulillah with issues with cholesterol and blood pressure that is under control. However, for the first time I am facing my first scare. During the sleep study, they discovered that I momentarily stopped breathing far too often to be comfortable. Therefore, I now need to sleep with a sleeping apparatus that will help me sleep better. This will Insya Allah tackle some of my various issues that have been perplexing me. Micro sleep, lethargy, sleepiness, weight gain (that could also be due to my fondness for food).
If this is not tackled, I will overwork my heart and I will be faced with issues related to heart failure and more. So, I will be at yet another medical appointment to fit me with a breathing apparatus known as CPAP. CPAP stands for Continuous Positive Air Pressure.
I've not really informed my family the extent of the health problem except that I need to use a machine to sleep. And according to the doctor I will need to use it for life. But Alhamdulillah I am well taken care of. I am under the Endocrine Institute in Putrajaya Hospital. However, my team here was concerned with my medical appointments and asked me outright. I requested them for a favour, for them to communicate me now and again especially on days when I am not in office.
As a start I now need to sleep with a nightly nasal spray and sleeping with additional pillows to make sure that my air passage is not blocked. Placing additional pillow increased my sleep quality tremendously. I feel slightly less lethargic compared to before, so I am quite looking forward to the machine to enjoy the immediate benefits explained by the doctor.
As I return to KB my calendar is already full. In the coming days I will be paying a visit to the newly minted Director of Land and Mines. Followed by a launching ceremony of a new building by the largest manufacturer here. And the team has already arranged a series of visits to the participants of the poverty eradication programme throughout the state. Then I need to be back in KL for another series of Management meetings. I will then be attending another family wedding. And if my parents are up to it I will drive them back to KB to attend the wedding of the granddaughter of my mother's classmate here. Then I will return to KL again to enroll my son into university for his next stage of his life.
As I write My Fair Lady is playing, one of my favourite background noises. I need some noise as I cannot stand the deafening silence being all alone here.
