Withdrawal Symptoms!

Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building just completed its run. We now know who the murderer is. They have even renewed for a new season, and it ended with a cliff hanger. For another season of OMITB I must wait way into 2024. In the meantime, what is a guy to do.

Only Murders in the Building

OMITB starred Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. It's a trio that worked and they worked well. Martin Short and Steve Martin have worked together before especially in Three Amigos and Father of the Bride. 2 very hilarious movies.

Three Amigos

At a time when many from their era has retired, they are still running and running well producing stories that is enticing and relevant for a whole new generation. It is not often that I look forward to a new episode one after another. Now that it is over, I am having withdrawal symptoms. The same as when Friends, How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory ended. Nothing else comes close.

Since there's nothing that enticed me in the comedy genre, I binged on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Star Trek: Picard and Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett. And that's only because I am a huge Star Trek and Star Wars fan. So, what's next? I need to wait now for everything.

I tried to appreciate How I Met Your Father, but it was too painful. In a way I was glad that it was cancelled but ending it in such a manner is just not on. In the meantime, I will continue rewatching OMITB, which I am doing as we speak. I do play Friends, HIMYM and BBT as a background noise.

What do I like about OMITB? It's how they weave a tale and come to a satisfactory ending. Like how they got the actors physically involved in fleshing out theories and ideas. Same thing why I enjoyed the Book of Boba Fett. It was told in flashbacks or dream sequence that helped to provide a better understanding. Similarly, HIMYM, the writers already had an ending in mind and wrote the stories to fit the ending. That is super brilliant.

So, nothing fresh and new is calling out to me, hence withdrawal. Nothing shouting out to me from the movies either. After they killed Iron Man, retired Captain America and with the actual death of Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, the MCU tales seem bland and contrived. I do not enjoy the new movies. At the most I did enjoy Guardians of the Galaxy 3. The rest? Not so much, thus not really looking forward to anything new from MCU. I think that gravy train have ended. At the most maybe Antman and that's on account of Paul Rudd. That's what made OMITB Season 3 even more exciting with Paul Rudd and Meryl Streep. 2 amazing actors. He even added a little something to Friends.

So, in the meantime, I've nothing to watch. Only thing that attracts me these days is HGTV. Used to watch Masterchef Australia but when they replaced Gary Mehigan, Matt Preston and George Calombaris, I refused to watch it again, so that's that.

Yes, I am rambling on. I have a few important matters to deal with in coming days, weeks and months, and that will take up most of time from now on.
